Ben is a firm director, vice president, and partner with Blackburn Conte. He joined the firm in 2011 after several years as a Commonwealth’s Attorney in southern Virginia.

Ben helps individuals and businesses navigate their diverse and unique legal needs. The majority of Ben’s practice focuses on helping injured people, including those harmed in car crashes, medical procedures, nursing homes, shopping centers, and numerous other venues. In 2024, a central Virginia jury awarded his client one of the largest verdicts the area has seen in a premises liability case. By way of settlement or trial, Ben has recovered millions of dollars for his clients and aided each one on the road to recovery.

Ben also represents clients involved in construction litigation, contract disputes, general civil litigation, and those charged with criminal and traffic offenses.  He is counsel to dozens of small and large businesses, inlcuding several that have been family owned and operated for multiple generations. Ben is consistently recognized by his peers as “Legal Elite” in the category of civil litigation published by Virginia Business Magazine.   

Born and raised in South Boston, Virginia, Ben earned his B.A. in English from Virginia Military Institute and his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law. Ben lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children in Henrico County.
